Aldi's Bacon and Cheese Wrap Fake-Away Recipe
Did you know you can recreate the fast-food pastry favourite, the Greggs Bacon and Cheese Wrap, using just a handful of ingredients from supermarket Aldi? Fans have been going wild for the simple fake-away bake, meaning you can re-create the iconic Greggs wraps at home for just 71p* - it doesn't get much cheddar than this!
In a recipe shared to the Aldi Shoppers Facebook page , an Aldi shopper revealed the secret to the home-made Greggs wraps - begin by rolling out Aldi's Ready Rolled Puff Pastry (85p, 375g) and dividing into six squares. Next, sprinkle a handful of British Grated Mature Cheese (£1.49, 250g) diagonally across the pastry squares and layer two rashers of Smoked Back Bacon (£1.59, pack of 10) on top. Add in some mixed herbs for an extra kick of seasoning, before sealing the turnover by folding two corners of the pastry to cross over in the middle. Finally, brush the pastry with beaten egg yolk, sprinkle with any leftover cheese and bake in the fan oven at 180°C. After twenty minutes, your crisp and golden pastry parcels will be oozing with flavour and ready to melt in your mouth.
Pick up the ingredients on your next Aldi shop and get baking!
