If you're missing your fast-food fix at the moment, fear not, because supermarket Aldi is showing you how to re-create your favourites using store-bought ingredients, and for just a fraction of the cost, with a selection of home-cooked fake-away recipes. Get ready to indulge in your much-loved guilty pleasures again, because DIY Big Macs and Meatball Marinara subs never tasted so good… 

It's the return of the Mac - if you're lusting after a McDonald's Big Mac, try out this homemade version instead - ready in no time, and using just 6 ingredients. First, toast Seeded Burger Buns (59p, pack of 4), top with shredded Romaine Lettuce, Cheese Singles (69p, 8 slices), and stack with not one, but two Oakhurst Beef Burger Patties (£1.39, pack of 6). Finish to perfection with Bramwells Pickled Gherkins (79p, 680g), and slather with Bramwells Chunky Burger Sauce (75p, 250ml) – a McDonald's-inspired, secret recipe burger sauce. For just 95p1 for this DIY version of the Big Mac, you'll be Lovin' it!

'Have it your way' and recreate the legendary Burger King Chicken Royale with just a handful of ingredients.  First, toast Seeded Burger Buns (59p, pack of 4), and layer with succulent Crispy Chicken Steaks (£1.25, 4 pack), shredded Romaine Lettuce, and lashings of Squeezy Real Mayonnaise (69p, 500ml). In a few simple steps, you've got yourself a cheat's Chicken Royale, for just 48p2.

If a Subway Meatball Marinara is calling your name – you need look no further than your local Aldi, which has everything you need to re-create the sandwich from scratch. Swap out Hearty Italian bread for the Specially Selected Part Baked Ciabatta (89p, 300g). While these bake, get cooking on the mighty meatball filling – fry British Beef Meatballs (£1.55, 340g) and stir in Tomato, Onion & Garlic Pasta Sauce (49p, 500g) until warmed through. Assemble your sandwich and top with Cheese Singles (69p, 8 slices), for 'un-beef-lieveable' Mariana Melt. This fake-away serves two and costs just £3.113.

Re-create the breakfast of champions – the McDonald's McMuffin, in the comfort of your own kitchen. First things first, you'll need soft white toasting muffins (42p, pack of 4) – toast as little or as much as you please according to preference. Next up, the star of the show – sizzling and juicy Oakhurst Breakfast Pork Patties (£1.39, pack of 6), atop which lies a golden and oozy egg (85p, pack of 6). Finish by topping with a crisp and golden Champion Hash Brown (69p, 750g). The end result? A McMuffin masquerade, costing only 56p4  ….so good, we promise, you won't taste the difference.

Re-make the infamous bakery shop favourite – the Greggs Steak Bake, with just three cupboard ingredients. Divide and cut Aldi's Ready Rolled Puff Pastry (85p, 375g) into 8. Next, top each base sheet with a generous spoonful of Stewed Steak (£1.59, 400g), carefully cover with the pastry tops, and crimp the edges to seal each pocket. Finally, brush the pastry case with a beaten egg yolk, then sit back and watch as it puffs up in the oven into a crispy and golden pastry parcel, perfect for satisfying your savoury tooth. This fake-away bake serves 4 and will cost you less than £2.505.

McDonald's isn't the only plaice to get your Filet-o-Fish fix – try out this homemade recreation instead. Simply take Aldi's Buttermilk Fish Burgers (£1.39, pack of 2), wrap up in Specially Selected Brioche Burger Buns (79p, pack of 4), layer with Cheese Singles (69p, 8 slices), and a dollop of Tartare Sauce (39p, 175g). Et voilà - You've got yourself a 'fintastic' meal for just over a pound6.
