Sainsbury's are to expand distribution of Pelagonia Aivar by 35% to 465 stores from October 2019. Aivar, a chargrilled red pepper spread is a speciality recipe from south-east Europe and was launched by Pelagonia in the UK in 2011.

The naturally sweet and creamy low-calorie condiment made from chargilled peppers and aubergines has proved popular with Sainsbury's customers since launching in October 2017. Sainsbury's have now decided to increase the distribution to a further 135 stores from 13th October 2019.

Pelagonia released a short artistic film in 2018 available on YouTube called 'The making of Pelagonia Aivar'. They also launched a hot version of the Aivar, their most popular product in the same year which is currently available in 220 Waitrose stores and independent retailers across the UK and beyond.

Pelagonia's range of 19 recipes are available in 875 retail stores across the UK including Waitrose, Ocado and Sainsbury's with distribution across 14 countries in Europe and the Middle East.
