Premium Dorset-based wine producer Furleigh Estate has just released 'Sea Pink', a delightfully vibrant still dry rosé, in time for the summer months ahead. This award-winning English winery has also joined forces with cult Dorset brand Baboo Gelato, which makes its ice cream less than two miles from the Furleigh Estate vineyard, to create a sensational new 'Sea Pink Rosé Sorbet'.
A blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Rondo, 'Sea Pink' has a stunning crushed cranberry colour with long legs. Floral scents of peony mingle with summer berries including raspberry, red cherry, loganberry and a hint of rosehip. The palate is bursting with flavours of sun-ripened soft red fruit alongside redcurrant and cranberry with a dash of uplifting acidity – a delicate reflection of British summer in a glass.
Commenting on the release, Rebecca Hansford, who co-owns and runs Furleigh Estate with her husband Ian Edwards, says: “We're delighted to introduce 'Sea Pink' just in time for the season of sunshine, sporting events and summer festivities across the UK. Succulent strawberry meets juicy pomegranate with a hint of fresh blackcurrant to deliver a fruity punch which bursts into life on the palate. 'Sea Pink' shows great depth of flavour, excellent vibrancy on the finish and works extremely well as the core ingredient of Baboo Gelato's 'Sea Pink Rosé Sorbet'.”
Baboo Gelato 'Sea Pink Rosé Sorbet' is available in 500ml pots with an RRP of £6 from selected farm shops across the South West. Annie Hanbury, Baboo Gelato's founder, suggests serving the 'Sea Pink Rosé Sorbet' with seasonal summer berries, ripe peaches or melon, or simply on its own with some almond biscotti.
South West wine expert and educator, Rebecca Mitchel DipWSET, worked with Rebecca and Ian to find the perfect food pairing for 'Sea Pink', deducing it is perfect served chilled with sustainably sourced seafood such as prawns, langoustines, lobster or fresh local crab. Its versatility means it is also delicious paired with smoked salmon, line-caught seared tuna or swordfish. At summer dinner parties enjoy 'Sea Pink' al fresco, served with antipasti such red pesto croutons or tomato bruschetta, herb-infused olives, or sun-dried tomato bread drizzled with pomegranate molasses. At a light 11.5% 'Sea Pink' is the perfect drink for your English summer garden party.
The Furleigh Estate at Salway Ash near Bridport is set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just five miles from Dorset's Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The soil in the Furleigh Estate vineyards is perfect for growing world-class still and sparkling wines.

Notes to Editors:
About Furleigh Estate
- Rebecca Hansford, daughter of a dairy farmer, left the Southwest for university not thinking she would ever return to live in the area. Twenty years later she and her partner did return and, in fact, bought Rebecca's childhood home which her father had sold during the intervening period. Now the former dairy farm is a thriving vineyard and winery making world-class sparkling wine which is served in the best restaurants across the country.
- Once the decision was made to run a vineyard and winery at Furleigh Estate, Ian went back to university to study winemaking and he is now responsible for all the wine produced on-site.
- Furleigh Estate produces approximately 40,000 bottles of wine per year and is dedicated to making premium still and sparkling English wine. Approximately three-quarters of all the wine produced at Furleigh Estate is sparkling wine.
- Current stockists include Morrish & Banham in Dorchester, Selfridges in London, The Good Wine Shop in Kew and Chiswick as well as the American Bar at The Savoy and Searcy's Champagne Bar at St Pancras
- The Estate is open for wine sales from Monday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm and runs tours on Wednesdays through to Saturdays.
