About Hapcheon Red Clay Hanwoo Korean Beef
Hapcheon Hwangto Red Clay Hanwoo beef comes from a bloodline of selected Hanwoo purebreds which are born in the green forest near the clear water and pristine area of Hapcheon. Here you'll find Gaya Mountain, where the natural coarse fodder for the cattle is abundant, thus providing the best conditions for Hanwoo breeding.
The cows in this area grow up very healthy because the enzymes and minerals of Hanwoo's red clay, which, accordingly to ancient Korean literature and Eastern Medicine, has metabolic properties which increase immunity to illness.
Hapcheon has a special factory that produces red clay Hanwoo professionally mixed feed, which all of its cows eat. Hapcheon Hwangto also practices eco-friendly farming and management. It also produces and administers its own probiotics.
Due to the small number of cattle available and the delicious flavour, rich texture and high marbling of the meat, Hanwoo is considered a premium product.
The quality of the beef is certified by the Hadong Korea Federation of Livestock Cooperatives (National Agricultural Cooperative Federation for Safe Korean Beef). All of its beef has a livestock product tracing system and carries the HACCP Safety Label from the very stringent Korean Food & Drug Administration The beef also has the seal of the Green Agriculture and Livestock Production Certification System – confirming that it is antibiotic-free.
