HAH Whisky Company

The HAH Whisky Company is breathing new life into the whisky market by reviving the brand name 'The Higginbottom,' paying homage to the great, great grandfather of MD Leo Scott-Francis.

From 1878 and with a career spanning 50 years, Henry Albert Higginbottom (whose initials were HAH), was a producer and supplier of fine whiskies.  He is credited as being a main provider of whisky – including his Club Blend – to British troops during the Boer war and Great War.

Four limited-edition bottlings complete the HAH whisky company's launch:

1989 Bunnahabhain - Cask 7714

41.9% ABV – Bourbon barrel – Non-chill filtered – 289 bottles (distilled 22.12.89) – £165.00

1989 Bunnahabhain - Cask 7719

41.0% ABV – Bourbon barrel – Non-chill filtered – 239 bottles (distilled 22.12.89) – £165.00

One of only eight active distilleries in Islay, Bunnahabhain (pronounced Boon-a-havn) is the island's most northerly distillery.

1990 Strathclyde - Cask 110036

55.0% ABV – Bourbon Barrel – £120.00

Situated in Glasgow at the south bank of the River Clyde, Strathclyde Grain Distillery is owned by Chivas Brothers.

2009 Heaven Hill - Cask 152736

63.5% ABV - Bourbon Barrel – £60.00

Heaven Hill Distilleries is the seventh largest spirits supplier in the US and the second largest holder of aging Bourbon Whiskey in the world.

Founder and MD of the HAH Whisky Company, Leo Scott-Francis, comments: “My grandfather, Nicholas Fisk, was known for writing children's books.  He was also a passionate lover of single malts who taught me about the whisky distilleries of Scotland.  He himself was the grandson of H.A. Higginbottom – producer of the famous Higginbottom Club Blend.  This is why the HAH Whisky Company is reviving 'The Higginbottom' brand.  We are once again bottling under our family name.

“Launching the two subtly different Bunnahabhain '89 expressions is an excellent way to start our Higginbottom revival, providing rare whiskies, casks and bottles from the finest distilleries on the planet.  We were so impressed by the Strathclyde '90 and had no option but to release this one as a Single Grain.  The 8 Year Old Heaven Hill might be considered young by Scotch standards, but we are confident that we have bottled this Bourbon at its optimal maturity.”

The Whisky Market, trading as part of The HAH Whisky Company, is known for selling whisky casks whilst providing a trustworthy offering for private buyers.  This includes a guaranteed exit strategy plus security and peace of mind from a service that works in three simple steps: "Hold it, trade it, bottle it."  The company buys back casks from investors for bottling under 'The Higginbottom' brand.

The Whisky Market currently has upwards of 750 casks (grain, single malt and bourbon whiskies) under management from more than 40 of distilleries across Scotland and America.

Founded in April 2014, The Whisky Market has grown from a modest private client base and now has over £3,500,00.00 of Single Malt Scottish Whisky casks (as well as American Bourbon) under management.

The decline in available options for alternative investments has forced many people to look elsewhere for value and a tax efficient hold.  Many of The Whisky Market's clients have liquidated their alternative portfolios in difficult market conditions to make gains through owning whisky casks. Long live whisky as an asset class!

The Whisky Market sells casks with a view to buying them back in the future for the company's own whisky brand 'The Higginbottom.' MD Leo Scott-Francis and his team have worked tirelessly to develop the connections necessary to obtain the best single malt whisky in quality casks and offer them to clients. With a guaranteed exit strategy in place, The Whisky Market's clients, who are global, are afforded both security and peace of mind.

As the whisky industry continues to expand, The Whisky Market Ltd. remains at the forefront of the cask trade. Whilst the number of quality casks available is finite, the company's willingness to provide an unbeatable service with a unique product is not.  The HAH Whisky Company LTD is now an independent bottler for clients worldwide.

The Whisky Market Ltd. is only able to take on a small number of select clientele per quarter due to the limited nature of suitable casks.  For investors and whisky lovers interested in holding, trading or bottling a cask, please do not hesitate to contact The Whisky Market at their London Bridge office.
