Hush Heath Estate

Premium producer, Hush Heath Estate in Kent, is releasing Nannette's English Rose 2017, becoming the first English winery to choose ARDEASEAL in place of a screwcap.

Made in Italy, the ARDEASEAL guarantees to maintain a wine's properties over time, in the same way as the best traditional corks.

Nannette's English Rose, which is named after the producers' daughter, will for the first time be available in magnums as well as 75cl bottles.  This still rosé is made from the same sparkling wine varieties as Hush Heath Estate's flagship fizz, Balfour Brut Rosé; the 2017 blend is 75% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, with 25% Chardonnay.  Winemakers Owen Elias and Victoria Ash use cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks before sterile filtering the wine into clear Burgundy bottles.

As wine lovers are warned about a potential shortage of rosé from the south of France, Hush Heath Estate's Provence-style rosé is set to quench consumer thirst for bone-dry wine that is the palest of pale pinks.

Hush Heath Estate head winemaker Victoria Ash comments:

“We are all about quality, innovation and making great wines fun at Hush Heath.  This year we have more to celebrate than ever before when it comes to still rosé – as the first English winery using the AREDEASEAL, plus we are bottling Nanette's 2017 in magnums.

“This new closure ensures that every wine lover can enjoy still English rosé in all its glory.  AREDEASEAL caught our attention because it allows the exact amount of oxygen to reach the wine, which dramatically reduces differentiation between bottles.  This year we are experimenting with the seal on 2000 bottles of Nannette's 2017, with the rest of the vintage being bottled under the usual screwcap.  It will be interesting for us to compare and contrast this trial with our customers.

“We are very particular about the colour of our rosé wines, and this latest Nannette's vintage is a delicate, pale Provençal pink.  Aromatic, yet refreshing and dry, Nannette's 2017 is made from the trio of sparkling wine varieties – a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.  This is a rosé with a difference, and the magnums are perfect for celebrations and get-togethers, with good food and great company.  The 2016 vintage has sold out and we anticipate that fans of Nannette's English Rose are thirsty for more.”

Nannette's English Rose 2017 is poured exclusively from magnums by the glass at The Glasshouse* in Kew, London.  The retail price is £16.50 per 75cl - bottles and magnums of Nannette's English Rose 2017 are available through the Hush Heath website (www.hushheath.com) and Liberty Wines.
