LEAP - a new range of salmon using wild Alaska sockeye and keta exclusively – has launched in the market and is available to buy online at Ocado, providing fish-lovers with a new fix.
The current LEAP range is made up of three varying salmon products: Wild Smoked Sockeye Salmon, Wild Sockeye Fillets and Wild Keta Fillets. LEAP Smoked Sockeye Salmon is smoked over a unique blend of five woods: alder, birch, beech, maple and hick. Hand-cured in sea salt with a little demerara sugar; it is rich, balanced and deeply flavoured. The Sockeye Salmon Fillets are vibrant red in colour, with a firm succulent texture and have the most intense flavour of all the wild salmon species. The final product in the range - LEAP Keta Salmon Fillets - are naturally light in colour and flavour, with a smooth and creamy texture.
The LEAP range is priced as follows:
- LEAP Wild Smoked Salmon (100g) - £6.99
- LEAP Wild Sockeye Fillets (220g) - £7.49
- LEAP Wild Keta Fillets (220g) - £5.50
Charlie Holland, LEAP marketing controller commented, “We are delighted that our new product range has been launched online at Ocado. Being naturally high in vitamin D, protein and omega 3 fatty acids, the LEAP range does not only look and taste delicious, but it is incredibly healthy too. Initial customer feedback has been hugely positive and we're looking forward to expanding the range further next year.”
“We are incredibly privileged to be featured exclusively in the LEAP salmon range and even more so that our sustainable seafood is now more accessible to customers nationwide. The three different products in the range really showcase just how diverse Alaskan salmon is and with LEAP's planned expansion, we're excited for what's in store next year,” said Sarah Johnson, Northern Europe marketing representative of Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.
Wild Alaska salmon is found in the three million lakes, 34,000 miles of coastline and 3,000 rivers of the North Pacific. They're lean, packed with flavour and bursting with goodness which is a result of their rich, natural diet of shellfish and marine organisms.
