The UK's most authentic biltong brand is launching with a new look and a new flavour.
Cruga Biltong was created by two of Meatsnacks Group founding partners, originally from South Africa, they just know how authentic biltong should taste.
Meatsnacks Group engaged Pearlfisher, a leading strategic design and branding agency, to review its product portfolio. This included a packaging refresh for the Cruga brand. The authenticity and craft nature of biltong was brought to life through the creation of a unique typeface and tribal patterns to convey the variety of flavours. The new design establishes the premium position of the brand, maintaining its authenticity to established customers as well as appealing to new meat snackers.
Cruga Biltong retains the same texture and flavour that's a favourite with consumers and adding a new flavour, Smoked Biltong to the range.
James Newitt, Managing Director Meatsnacks Group comments 'we knew that our Cruga biltong was loved and enjoyed by biltong and protein connoisseurs and we wanted to stay true to its South African roots of authenticity with the new design.'
The new Cruga Biltong packaging will be in store from the end of September.

Jerky and biltong are highly popular with athletes and fitness-conscious snackers looking for an energy boost, as products are high in protein and lower in fat than other snack products. This makes jerky and biltong a healthier snack when compared to products such as crisps, biscuits and chocolate, and hence why it's also popular as a snack at home or for those on the move and at work.
The essential difference between jerky and biltong is that the former is made from sliced, marinated meat which is then cooked and smoked, whereas biltong is made from sliced, marinated meat which is then air dried.
