The Fullerton Pavilion is now home to perhaps its most deserving tenant thus far – Monti, a classy jazz lounge that local jazz legend, Jeremy Monteiro, calls home and regards as “one of the best venues in the world I've had the pleasure of playing in”.

It's not hard to see why. Occupying prime position on the Fullerton Waterfront, in its own building with an open-air rooftop terrace looking out to the Marina Bay Sands and the surrounding bay, Monti is in a class of its own. Encompassing style, luxury, jaw-dropping views, and the most unique location in Singapore, Monti is one of its kind.

'JAZZ AT MONTI' SEVEN NIGHTS A WEEK!

The ambitious musical repertoire includes Monday Blues, Sunday J@M Sessions and for fans of the crowd-pleasing YouTube sensation Postmodern Jukebox, our music artists do a similar style on Thursday nights. While most of the musicians may be familiar faces, jazz aficionados will be pleased to know that the team invites international, regional and new local acts that take the stage on a regular basis. There are also plans for special guest performances by big name international jazz artists in an intimate setting that calls to mind the iconic jazz venues such as Birdland or Village Vanguard in New York City and Blu Note in Tokyo.

Seasoned industry veterans who are familiar faces in the local lounge circuit play live jazz music every night, mixing Classic Jazz with Blues, Soul and even more esoteric styles such as Skunk Jive. Expect to see the likes of Louis Soliano, Tama Goh, Rick Smith, Andrew Lim and Melissa Tham as band regulars. Leading the rat pack is Jeremy Monteiro, who curates the Monti's music programme and performs as often as he can, even with his tight travelling schedule.

“I have played in many great jazz venues in my 41-year career including venues such as Ronnie Scotts in London and the oldest Jazz Club in Europe, the Jazzkeller in Frankfurt,” he says. “Monti is poised to not only be the most beautiful jazz lounge in the world, but a true beacon of great jazz. I'm very excited to be part of this endeavor.”

JAZZ WITH A VIEW

With Monti claiming space as the most beautiful jazz lounge, jazz lovers here will finally find a fitting place to call home that is as classy as the music they adore. The main indoor space that houses the stage and cosy, but luxurious lounge seating is built for a chic cocktail night and a side of casual chit-chat with jazz as the main dish served.

Those who prefer to take in the mesmerising night views of the city's skyline and surrounding bay area can wander up to Monti's open-air rooftop terrace that boasts a separate bar and cocktail seating. If the weather is good, there's no better way to enjoy the evening than with a drink in hand and enjoying the balmy breeze while the live jazz played by the band below is piped up to the outdoor area.

JAZZ-CRAFTED COCKTAILS

Those who're wondering if the drinks will be as fabulous as the music can expect to be wowed.  All the signature cocktails have been crafted in the spirit of Jazz (pun intended). With categories like “Dixieland”, “Chicago Blues” and “European Bliss”, the drinks menu is a perfect reflection of the variety of Jazz genres at Monti, all enveloping the Jazz, Bespoke and Speakeasy feel.

Interestingly, the man responsible for curating the cocktail list, resident mixologist Joseph T. Millar, studied Jazz history and music for three years enabling him to specifically to design the drinks in a nod to Jazz and all its genres and styles.

Says Joseph, “I wanted the cocktails to be the perfect counterpoint to the Jazz music at Monti. So all the drinks have a certain story, background or historical association to the Jazz age and culture and each ingredient has been thoughtfully chosen to create the best flavours to accompany your experience here.”

The Jazz cocktail menu features classic drinks for $23++ and $24++ for creations.
