Food is a huge part of the seasonal celebrations, from savoury to sweet, rich culinary traditions are there to tantalise diners, and it's always a party when the festive table is set. Recreating this festive atmosphere, Gatti's Italian Restaurant & Bar at Citypoint in Moorgate, London EC2, has a great Christmas spread in the City this year.

From 21 November to 23 December Gatti's puts on the glitz with its elegant yet relaxed atmosphere in its comfortable restaurant, one of the few restaurants with a carving trolley, where every day  proper Roast Norfolk Turkey will all the trimmings will be served, for £22.99 per person, with chipolatas, roast potatoes, market vegetables, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and cranberry sauce.

If it's a party you are looking for, the restaurant, the bar and the private room can be booked for dining or drinking, with the main restaurant taking parties from four to 130, the bar ideal for up to 40 people and the stylish private room offering a more intimate setting for up to 10 people, perfect for those who want to linger with pals over port and pudding.

As well as the a-la-carte carving trolley, three tasty menus, devised by head chef Luciano Stoto, offer superb value and the best of festive Italy with a touch of Britain on a plate. They are all three courses starting at £33.50 and going up to £38.50 and £41.50 per person, depending on the choice. All skilfully cooked and stunningly presented, there are dishes such as Breasola di Cinghiale – wild boar bresaola, forest mushroom bruschetta, truffle oil and rucola.  Be tempted by a main course of Medaglioni di Cervo – venison medallions in a pistachio and herb crust, vintage port and blackberry sauce or keep it light with Branzino al Finocchio – pan fried seabass with roasted fennel, or go for the all-time favourite Bis di Paste – duo of pasta from the chef. There's a classic dessert trolley which is too tempting to resist for rounding off your Christmas feast.

NOTE FOR EDITORS: Gatti's Italian Restaurant & Bar is a hidden gem in the City, in the heart of Moorgate in London's EC2.  The name Gatti's is thought to pay homage to Mr Luigi Gatti, manager of The Ritz restaurant on board of the Titanic on B deck, the Italian/French cuisine being so fine that it was reserved for the exclusive use of First Class passengers, and in addition to the already sumptuous First Class dining saloon.
