Never someone to shy away from a challenge, The Bay Tree's founder, Emma Macdonald is not only presiding over the roll-out of a complete rebrand; she has also been busy cooking up the latest collection of autumn launches. This includes an entirely new category of preserves... So prepare to twist the lid and spread the love, with the fruit-filled delight that is... Marmajam.
Magic from the jam pan
The Bay Tree's new fruity compounds aim to give you extra; in this instance, extra fruit and extra flavour. The two marmajams – Blueberry & Lemon and Strawberry & Orange – are cleverly adapted recipes that combine the sweetness of soft summer fruits with a citrusy edge that delivers some real lip-smacking pizzazz.
Pioneering artisan-ista
With more than two decades of running The Bay Tree under her apron, Emma is still excited by the prospect of creating new flavour profiles, she explains; “As a producer you strive to generate interesting products that people find intriguing. Inspiration can come from the most unlikely places and sometimes you just have to trust your instincts about what will and won't work. At The Bay Tree, our mission is to make the ordinary, extraordinary and that means helping people discover new ways of serving and eating preserves.”
To help reduce wastage, the luxurious extra jams range is being introduced in 200g jars. The Bay Tree is additionally running an online campaign called 'Seven Day Serve' to help consumers find exciting recipe ideas for using up a jar within a week, Emma continues; “We want to encourage our customers to share their ideas and we'll be contributing our own recipes that the team have developed as well.”
Popping up in a store near you
The Bay Tree continues on its quest to pack taste and quality inside every jar and the new season line up of Extra Jams also features the grown-up Fig, Rum and Vanilla, the magical mishmash that is Jumbleberry Jam, Three Fruit Marmalade, a Vintage Cut Marmalade, Awesome Aubgerine Pickle and an aromatic Red Onion Marmalade. Now that is extra special.
