FRITES announces addition of live music on Saturday nights and an extended Happy Hour promotion
For most, the weekend is the perfect time to wind down and reflect on the past week while looking forward to the week ahead. Many meet with friends or family over leisurely meals — for which the relaxed, convivial atmosphere of FRITES is perfect. To add to this cheerful environment, Saturday nights will now see musician Iris Pascual performing at FRITES Central.
Iris has been entertaining music lovers in Hong Kong since 2001, where he's had stints at Hard Rock Cafe, The Cavern, Hong Kong Brew House, Swindlers and many more. Starting in September, Iris will be playing from 8pm onwards every Saturday night. Listen to smooth tunes over a Belgian beer and a plate of delicious food… what could be better?
For those that prefer to do their drinking on weekdays, FRITES now has an improved happy hour. Drinks promotions are a dime a dozen at Hong Kong bars, but how many of these deals are truly a steal? Far too many start at a time in the day when many workers still need to be at the office, and end before the customer has even had a chance to step foot out of work. Fortunately for those with long working hours, due to popular demand, FRITES is extending its happy hour promotion by an hour. Yes, one whole hour!
FRITES' happy hour is now five hours of happiness from 3-8pm. Alcoholic beverages such as draught beer, house wine and basic spirits are available at 50% off during this time. If you're feeling celebratory, champagne is also included on the list of happy hour-eligible drinks.
FRITES takes its beer very seriously – this is especially evident when you read its Beer Bible, which contains more than 80 bottled beers available at this Belgian beer hall. Contrary to popular belief, draught beer is not normally superior to bottled beer. Certain types of beer, such as yeast-driven ones like Trappist ales or “refermenting” ones like most Belgian beers, benefit from extended maturing time within the bottle. If you're a stickler for a pint from a keg, however, FRITES pours four different beers on its lines: Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Leffe Brune and Leffe Blonde. Can't make up your mind? Have the beer sample paddle, which contains sample-sized servings of all four draught beers along with a light snack for only $150.
Due to FRITES' proximity to many offices, customers truly enjoy bringing clients to the Belgian beer halls to enjoy warm hospitality. Many a business deal has been discussed over their quick (and absolutely delicious) three-course set lunch, and many deals have been closed over a pint (or five). Requests for celebratory champagne to be added to the happy hour have been building up for quite a while now, and they have finally decided to heed it by offering the fantastic Ayala Brut Nature NV at a very friendly $825 by bottle.

We extended our happy hour so that more people can experience our warm Belgian hospitality, from the food to the beer.” says Viviano Romito, Operations Director and Owner.
FRITES' happy hour is available five days a week, from Monday to Friday, 3-8pm, excluding public holidays. Ditch your usual “happy” hour and join FRITES for happier hours!
