The new and extremely innovative Dartington Dairy is set to launch at The Shops at Dartington Food Fair on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May.  Recently featured on BBC 1's Countryfile, for the very first time Dartington Dairy will showcase their nine new flavours of luxury cows' milk ice cream.  Flavours include Bourbon, Cookies & Cream, Salted Peanut Butter Caramel, Luscious Lemon Curd and Fresh Roasted Coffee & Salted Almond Praline as well as others.   

Situated on the Dartington Estate at Old Parsonage Farm, Jon and Lynne Perkin have been farming on the Estate for just over a year and will also be launching a range of artisan goats' milk ice cream and goats' milk very soon. 

Commenting on the exciting launch, Jon Perkin, co-owner of Dartington Dairy, says: “Both Jersey cows' milk and goats' milk make excellent ice cream.  With visitors already coming to the Dartington Estate to visit The Shops at Dartington and Dartington Hall, we felt using the milk to create dairy products was a natural fit.”  Jon continues: “Goats' milk is very sought after for its health benefits and lactose tolerance qualities.  People who suffer from lactose intolerances are able to drink it with no ill effects.  We are delighted with our range of cows' milk ice cream and are very eager to launch our goats' milk ice cream.  We are also looking at developing a hybrid ice cream using both cow and goat milk.”

Celebrating the very best of Devon, and held in association with Food & Drink Devon, The Shops at Dartington Food Fair is now in its sixth year.  With the county's finest food and drink producers, passionate chefs and food personalities, the free to enter fair is set to be the greatest yet.

Bursting with an incredible array of artisan delicacies from over forty producers, visitors will be able to try and buy the region's tastiest goodies from some of the county's most well-loved and also new producers including New Lion Brewery, Bell & Loxton, Riverford Organic Farms, Lisette's Artisan Confectionery, Good Game, Cootealicious and Luscombe Drinks as well as many more. 

Fascinating workshops and demonstrations will be taking place across the two days with TV chef, Mal Harradine, chef proprietor of The Curator Kitchen, Matteo Lamaro, The Devon Scone Company's highly acclaimed Richard Hunt, head chef at the multi-award winning Millbrook Inn JP Bidart, fish workshops with Favis of Salcombe and Exeter Cookery School's Jim Fisher, and an enlightening double act with Exeter Golf & Country Club's head chef Adam Little and sous chef Ben Corcutt.  Rachel Lambert is back for a second year after her hugely successful foraging workshops and Devon Life Home Cook of the Year finalist, Sue Stoneman will be teaching all how to make a mango and passionfruit roulade and savoury choux puffs.

A weekend for all the family, there'll be magic shows with Cosmo the clown, activities in the Craft tent, 'learn how to throw a pot' classes and courses in Tanner Bates' leather workshop as well as live folk and jazz music.
