Honest Eats will launch during Coeliac Awareness Week (9-15th May) with the widest and finest range of free-from food choices offered in one place.
www.honesteats.co.uk is an exciting new online shop that will launch on 10th May 2016 to offer UK consumers one of the most diverse and affordable ranges of free-from food. The online shop has been designed to provide a new shopping experience, allowing foodies to easily narrow down their purchase options by their intolerance or food preferences.
With the UK free-from market forecast to double by 2019¹, Honest Eats is ideal for people with food allergies (including Coeliac disease) and intolerances, vegans, vegetarians and those looking for a large range of new organic food and drink. It will also appeal to a growing market who are choosing reduced gluten, dairy or meat diets to manage a healthier lifestyle, or simply to try something new.
Honest Eat's product range has been carefully sourced from several renowned and established UK and European food producers (including Spain, Italy and Germany), and many not yet widely known or available in the UK. These include Italian pasta-maker, Farabella, popular Italian free-from and vegan brand, Probios, and the Worthing-based gluten-free Sussex Bread Company (see notes to editors for a full list of key suppliers). Launching with over 600 products, the emphasis is on great taste and value - from pastas, pestos, and free-from ready meals to breads, cereals and desserts.
Britain's growing appetite for free-from diets
Free-from diets (with no gluten or dairy) are being adopted at great speed; the UK free-from market is worth £365 million, which is forecast to grow 50% by 2019 according to a 2015 Mintel report¹. A 2015 free-from report by The Grocer² suggests that this is because of lifestyle choices. Out of the one in five Brits that now regularly purchase free-from products, the report found that only 13% of whom did so because of a medical condition.
Reduced meat diets are also on the rise as Brits are waking up to the potential health benefits, such as improved mood, energy and a lower risk of high blood pressure and diseases like diabetes and bowel cancer. Mintel forecasts that alternatives to meat and dairy will top consumer priorities in 2016³. The same research organisation also predicts that reduced meat diets will be a growing trend over the coming years, and that one in eight British adults are now vegetarian or vegan⁴.
Consumers who sign up for an account at www.honesteats.co.uk will also receive a 10% discount on their first order by using coupon code “HE10” at the checkout.
