The Yarra Valley's Zonzo Estate, known for it's robust, authentically Italian seasonal menus and rustic, farmhouse-style location ideal for Wedding backdrops, is adding another feather to its cap with the launch of its debut 2015 wine vintage, available for presale orders from 12th April 2016. Created by experienced Yarra Valley winemakers Caroline Mooney and Kate Goodman, the Zonzo Estate premier wine collection includes Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc produced by grapes hand picked from the Estate's rolling vineyard.

Zonzo Estate's debut includes an intense and savoury Pinot Noir with fruit characters of raspberries, cherries and beautifully balanced oak; a rich yet elegant Shiraz that creates a bright yet dense taste; a tantalising Cabernet Sauvignon with bright cassis and berry fruit contrasted with background notes of tobacco leaf and spice; a classic Yarra Valley Chardonnay that balances fruit intensity and acidity to give persistence and length on the palate; and a Sauvignon Blanc featuring nuances of guava and gooseberry fruits.

Owner of the restaurant Zonzo since 2007, Rod Micallef acquired the Estate in March 2015 to breathe new life into the existing vineyard, envisioning a premium wine collection that would tie the authentic, Italian offerings of the restaurant to the reinvingorated vines that have matured to produce sophisticated wine. Through tireless dedication, Micallef developed a sleek glass bottle with fine details for the Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon that enhances design and functionality from embossed branding to a deep kick up to allow for flawless and stable pouring; “This Vino was developed through dedication, passion and relentless expectation” says Micallef.

The debut 2015 wine vintage collection will be available for pre order from 12th April 2016 via www.zonzo.com.au with a full webstore launch scheduled for June 2016. The new wine collection will also feature as a permanent fixture on the wine list at Zonzo Estate. In conjunction with the launch of the debut wine, Zonzo Estate will also launch their second Hot Air Balloon to provide a graceful birds eye view of the lush vineyards below.
