A malt whisky first tasted at a Guinness World Record-setting event is now available nationwide.
'Vintage Reserve' is the latest whisky from award-winning Single Malt, The Glenrothes. It was first tasted at the Lord Provost of Glasgow's Burns' Night Supper in January - which set the official record for the biggest such event.
Beautifully crafted by malt master Gordon Motion, it is The Glenrothes' most complex whisky yet, featuring a blend of vintage malts from the last three decades.
As such, Vintage Reserve continues The Glenrothes' unique approach of marrying the finest whiskies of a particular year and bottling at the precise moment they are ready. This is in contrast to many distillers who bottle simply based on the age of a whisky.
In Vintage Reserve, older vintage expressions lend mellower, softer flavours, while the younger ones add 'exuberance' and citrus notes. Overall, Motion describes Vintage Reserve's character as “mellow, soft fruits, citrus and honey”.
RRP £39.00 (70cl). 40% ABV. Asda, Waitrose, Ocado, whiskyshop.com and royalmilewhiskies.com.
