Restaurant specialises in Mrs Mi's authentic knife-shaved noodle dishes, inspired by the flavours of traditional Chinese street fare.
Mrs Mi is proud to announce the launch of its first concept restaurant in Australia. Opening in Sydney's Chatswood Chase on Saturday 5th September, Mrs Mi brings Sydneysiders an authentic taste of Northern China's Shanxi region with a unique spin.
As a young university student in the 1950s, Mrs Mi always loved to travel around on her bike looking for delectable street food, such as her favourite Shanxi specialty knife-shaved noodles.
Ten years ago, her daughter decided to retrace her mother's footsteps. When she discovered their favourite street snacks could no longer be found, she wondered if the tastes reminiscent of her childhood were also gone for good.
Today, Mrs Mi lovingly brings back the nostalgic flavours and happiness of yesteryear, fusing deliciously healthy ingredients with traditional recipes to create the brand new Mrs Mi.
Dining guests will enjoy the theatre of the world's first robot assistant chef. With a history that dates back centuries, Shanxi noodles are considered among the best in the world. That's why Mrs Mi spent many years perfecting her secret dough recipe to recreate the authentic flavour she enjoyed so much in her youth.
Mrs Mi believes the size and consistency of her noodles are every bit as important as her recipe, so she looked to the world of technology to help. Years of research have been undertaken to perfect the centuries-old art of knife-shaving noodles, resulting in our Assistant Robot Chef. By shaving noodles like leaves directly into the water, our robot brings Mrs Mi's tasty noodle experience to life in a unique and dramatic way.
"We're excited to bring Mrs Mi to Sydney," says Karen Cigna, Head of Marketing at Mrs Mi. "So much more than a Chinese restaurant, Mrs Mi offers Sydneysiders the opportunity to travel back in time and discover her favourite street snacks balanced with a new modern health concept. Experiential and nostalgic, the restaurant is dedicated to bringing people together to take time, share and enjoy their food as they did in the 1950s."
To celebrate the opening of Australia's first Mrs Mi, Chef Michael Tan will be creating special Asian fusions in the restaurant alongside Mrs Mi's speciality dishes. Mrs Mi will be open for lunch and dinner, with a menu featuring street food classics including dumplings, signature knife-sliced stir noodles, soups and traditional regional pancakes.
